Ease of abdication
“See what you made me do to you”
“You triggered me to punish you”
“Don’t make me mad at you”
“I couldn’t help it; your action brought out the beast in me”
“He made me angry.”
“You made me do this to you”
It has become easier to hide behind any of these statements to justify our actions. To push responsibility on someone else. Especially when we aren’t proud of them.
No one can make you do what you don’t want to do. Even under duress, you can choose your action.
And its consequence - of course.
