Childlike wonder
In a recent piece, Seth Godin aptly suggests that adults can benefit from embracing childlike qualities without succumbing to childish behavior. Indeed, adults can be childlike, without being childish.
I wholeheartedly embrace this perspective.
Being childlike involves wonder. It requires that we ‘see the world with fresh eyes and create magic’. On the other hand, being childish is ‘living as if there are no consequences.’
I believe we can live our lives with this childlike wonder, and with curiosity.
We can infuse play and unreserved joy into our lives regardless of how old - or young - our biological bodies are.
And when we engage with the world around us through the eyes of the child within us, what transformative experiences await us as we embark on this path?
