Hope is a lens, not a strategy
Those who say hope isn't a strategy are correct. Nothing gets done simply by engaging hope.
But when we engage hope as a way of seeing the world, It helps us see things more clearly.
It helps us see that regardless of what's happening in our world - and the world- things will be fine.
It guides our focus to see how the actions you take will be net-positive.
It helps us see how the actions others take will be net-positive.
And when the reverse becomes true, it helps us see the way forward. It helps us see what beauty exists beyond the damage, and how we all get better in spite of the failings.
But that doesn't release us from the responsibility of making the best decisions and following through with the right sequence of actions.
Rather, it is knowing deeply within, that even after we have done what's right, even after we have done our best, even when things backfire, we will be fine.
We will be fine. As individuals. And as a collective.
