It's important to have some empathy when discussing with someone whose view you disagree with. Especially those whose perspectives you find disturbing.
When they are open to expanding their view of what's possible in the world, they will see how much exists beyond the scope of their own experiences.
And when you are open to expanding your acceptance of how diverse we see the world, then, maybe, you are able to learn something from their experiences.
