Making sentences
That’s the job of a writer.
It’s not writing books. It’s not submitting op-eds.
It’s making sentences worth reading.
Molding them, and pruning them, and (re)arranging them till they are. Until each says exactly what it should, even more than the words allow.
Then, building them up into strings that move both readers and non-readers to take action.
Luckily, those inspired actions can lead to positive change in the world.
The books, op-eds, features, and films are all containers for the sentences to live. Without the sentences, the container is useless.
