Nothing is very urgent
I recently received a text of someone advertising to me; they ended with “do it now, it’s very urgent”.
Really? Very. Urgent?
For this piece, let’s refer to urgency as ‘the U-word’.
Nothing is very urgent. It is either it is urgent or it’s not. All urgent task have the same level of urgency, however, the consequences of choosing one over another may weigh differently.
Can you limit your use of “the U-word” to only situations that truly require it?
That way, you don’t need a scale to describe its state of urgency.
