Perfect flaws
Sometime in May 2020, I saw an episode of the series, Scorpion, where a group of brilliant misfits was helping Homeland Security defend against unfolding high-tech threats.
I had long forgotten about the movie, but earlier today I found a note I scribbled as I saw the film:
A machine can only copy it, and not make it, because perfection is in the tiny flaws that make us human.
It’s the imperfection in the things we see - and in ourselves - that makes them perfect. Maybe that’s the point after all.
