Reality cheque
It is easy to get into a filter bubble and see things from your unique perspective.
When what you see isn’t totally helpful, write yourself a reality cheque.
I cash mine by asking these questions:
What is the unbiased truth I am avoiding?
Why am I avoiding this?
What happens if I come to terms with how things are?
Who has an answer to what I am facing that I’ve chosen to ignore because they are inarticulate?
What do I do next?
Accepting reality is one of the best ways to either avoid or ease suffering.
