Honesty is the logical policy to follow when you are right.

That makes sense.

The real test is when you are wrong, and at fault.

This is counterintuitive, but the best time to double down on honesty is when you are wrong.

That’s not the time to defend yourself.

You’d want to. It’s an itch waiting to be scratched. It wants to shield you from the pain of being wrong.

But once you follow that itch, you won’t stop until your bones are visible. It’s not a pretty scene.
