Stories matter
A lesson from history is that stories have always mattered. Especially the stories we tell ourselves and the stories others tell of us. These stories shape us, they alter our perceptions of reality, and how we see the world around us.
It’s true that our stories and the stories of those who came before us are interwoven in an interconnected web of our shared humanity.
Our stories matter. Just as much as the stories of those we love, and those who have lived and passed.
One of the best things we can do to honour the memories of those who have come before us is to preserve and learn from their stories. Stories have the power to keep the living and dead alive.
These stories contain wisdom. They contain anecdotes. They show us how special we are, and the degree to which we are similar.
Everyone will eventually pass. But the stories can live on.
