The greatness in others
Recently, I was reading a well-written biography by one of my favorite writers, Walter Isaacson, about an African-born entrepreneur working to get people to Mars.
I had seen people talk about how they love his audacity and how they want to be like him. I had seen others say if he can do it, so can they.
Biographies like that aren’t just meant to inspire others. It helps to understand the subject better, understand how they think, and what circumstances were unique to them.
And as all biographies, help you learn about what they did.
But not for you to do the same, but for you to get a sense of the sacrifices that were made, and decide if you are willing to make similar trade-offs.
