There are no formulae
I’ve had first-hand experience observing the race to find, get, and implement a formula for everything.
The formula for how to be the best versions of themselves. Formulae on how to be happy. On how to earn more. On how to build lasting relationships.
On how to solve problems. On how to find meaning. And even a formula for answering life’s deepest questions.
The thing about these formulae is that they selectively work. What you get are lottery tickets shown by those who had previously won the lottery.
Someone will always win the lottery. Banking on being that person doesn’t seem to be the best strategy.
The wisdom of the crowd rarely applies to formulae, except it has been tested across disciplines and stood the test of time. There is an allure to following a formula, going the fast lane, and in modern parlance, wanting to ‘blow’.
However, all of history has taught us that most speed and reward are gotten from doing something in a consistent, stable, and steady manner.
If you still seek a formula, maybe that’s it.
