Turning the light on
That's what we show up daily to do. With our craft. With our businesses. With our gifts.
Turning the light on and letting it shine. For us. For others.
But what happens when it gets unplugged and we forget to turn it back on?
A bank with more than 28 million customers forgot to do this some days ago, leading to this:
Of course, screw-ups happen. It may be a bad day for whoever was in charge of checking this.
But when it's back on, we always have at least two options to choose from.
It either becomes an opportunity to make the light shine brighter on the paths of those we care for. To go above and beyond in delivering better for those we serve.
Or we simply switch it back on and pretend it was never off. It is tempting to believe no one will ever notice.
That's untrue. Those who care know. Those who trust us with attention know.
The least we can do is to acknowledge it was off. And now, it is back on.
Not doing this sends the message we all dread to share: "we don't care enough to show we aren't perfect."
