Wisdom over power
How might we ensure human wisdom exceeds the overwhelming power we have access to?
That's one of the questions I have been thinking about lately.
Of course, it supports the assumption that we are clear about both wisdom and power that is available to us.
I love the abundance that we have in the world. All through history, humans have consistently developed new systems, processes, and technologies to make things better, faster, and more convenient. This will never stop happening.
But when not done with intention, speed overcomes intentionality. Compute power overcomes innate wisdom.
How do we ensure the power we create through technology doesn't replace the wisdom of being human?
How do we ensure we understand the relationship between these two and can guide it in ways that benefit most of humanity?
How do we get this and future generations to celebrate authenticity, show up deliberately, and use tech as what it should be used for - a tool to help us compound in wisdom and trust? Not replace those.
Lots of other questions we may need to continue asking, and without fear, answering.
