Life didn’t give us lemon
We did.
Sometime around 200 A.D.
It’s actually a beautiful story when you think about it. Some folks brought together two or three different types of oranges, including bitter orange and citron.
The hybrid tasted so distinct and different.
It was sour.
So sour, it was lemon.
Each time we think about the saying “when life gives us lemon…”1, we can be quick to remember that life didn’t give us lemon. We, as humans, contributed to the lemons we see today.
It’s both figurative and literal.
The analogy goes beyond breeding lessons into every other aspect of life.
Taking responsibility starts from there.
The response to this ranges from ‘make lemonade’, and ‘plant a lemon tree’ to ‘return it and demand chocolate’ :). You do whatever works for you.
